Mr Anastasios Mylonas was born in Athens in 1971 from a traditional seafarer family. Holder of a BSc. in Naval Architecture from the University of West Attica, and a MSc in Marine Engineering Management from University of Greenwich. He is married, father of two sons 16 and 14 years old.
He started working at the age of 17 at several jobs supporting his studies while his official carrier started in 1992 at his early 20s. Initially worked in Eleusis Shipyards and Perama Ship-repair Zone mostly in on-site steel-repairs evaluation and quality control. He served his compulsory military service in the Hellenic Navy where he supported the team overlooking the building of the Jason Class landing ships at Eleusis Shipyards.
In 1995 he served ULTRATEST Ltd as a senior UTM Operator where in a period of less than three years managed over 130 vessels’ projects worldwide gaining a remarkable experience and recognition. His skills led him the next step at his carrier in 1998, where at the early age of 27 was challenged to become a trainee and shortly a Superintendent Engineer, at EUROCARRIERS Inc a company operating 12 bulkers and 3 product tankers. The next 4 years were full of travelling worldwide but mostly in Far East for pre-purchase surveys and deliveries, dry-dockings and repairs as well as regular surveys and attendances.
In 2001 joined the newly established PENDULUM SHIPMANAGEMENT SA as a Senior Superintendent Engineer in a very exciting and demanding working environment where he escalated to the position of the Technical Manager and the Designated Person Ashore (DPA) in 2006. Both positions were of paramount importance for the operation of the shore-side support team as well as the operation of the fleet of 8 handy-max bulkers and the one product tanker. He was given more responsibilities and overall experience in the day to day operation of the managing fleet.
A very ambitious project knocked his door in 2012, the re-construction of a Korean Built passenger ferry previously struck by a serious fire casualty. That was the first vessel of LEVANTE FERRIERS where he served as Technical Manager and Project Manager supervising the project in China for almost two years. He was one of the major decision makers for vessel’s conversion. FIOR DI LEVANTE was later awarded as the most beautiful Passenger-Ferry in Greece and best worldwide ship conversion in year 2015, honoured with the internationally prestigious SHIPPAX AWARD. A tremendous experience which gave him strength and knowledge for the next step of his carrier in establishing his own company.
